Tahoe 4681 is a card version of the successful Tahoe 684 G.shdsl+ modem designed for installation in a 19" rack-mounted DSL Access Multiplexer.
Apart from typical G.shdsl modulations they support TCPAM-32 coding - much more efficient than the standard TCPAM-16, giving higher throughputs and higher reach.
Throughput
Each modem port achieves throughputs of 5.7 Mbps on the distance of a few kilometers. The pairs can be bundled into 4-wire or 8-wire trunks giving speeds reaching 22.8 Mbps - much more than any other xDSL technology can provide.
Features Thanks to the line bundling you can connect four Tahoe 681 modems, two Tahoe 682 modems or one Tahoe 684 on the other end of the lines. The traffic on these lines may be mixed together in bridge mode or separated using VLANs. In the latter case you may define a DSL port as an untagged and the Ethernet port as tagged and separate traffic on an external Ethernet switch (read more)
Values below were measured on a test line of 0.5mm wire diameter. They depend on an actual line and thus are not guaranteed. They may be different - higher or lower - in an individual case.
